Royal Caribbean International has appointed Bert Hernandez to replace Sean Treacy as senior vice-president of international sales.
Hernandez will oversee the line’s business in the UK, Ireland, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand, China, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.
He recently returned to the line’s Miami office after leading operations in China for five years.
Hernandez (pictured) has also held roles within Royal Caribbean Group in areas such as finance, revenue strategy and itinerary planning.
Treacy will move into the role of senior vice-president of hotel operations, taking over from Mark Tamis who is “moving on to new ventures” after more than seven years, according to Royal.
The line said: “Since 2006, Sean has been a key member of the international organisation as we’ve focused on amplifying our presence in markets around the world – an essential part of our success as a global cruise line.”
Royal’s latest Oasis-class vessel, Wonder of the Seas, made its European debut last week, with a two-day trade sailing from Barcelona.
