Scenic expands 2023-24 Antarctica programme

Scenic has expanded Scenic Eclipse’s 2023-24 Antarctica programme with three new itineraries.

New sailings include a 12-day Antarctica Insights: Fly & Cruise Voyage; a 11-day Wild Antarctica, Fly the Drake itinerary; and a 19-day Beyond the Antarctic Circle cruise.

The Antarctica Insights sailing will be the vessel’s first-ever fly-cruise option. Passengers will fly to King George Island over the Drake Passage and board the vessel. Prices for the December 17 departure start from £14,485.

Passengers who book the Wild Antarctica, Fly the Drake sailing will fly to and from King George Island and therefore not sail through Drake Passage at all. Prices for the December 24 sailing start from £13,450.

The 19-day Beyond the Antarctic Circle voyage includes four nights in the Antarctic Circle. Prices for the itinerary, departing on February 8, 2024, start from £15,850.

Other similar itineraries offered by the line include three days in the Antarctic Circle.

Passengers who book the 2023-24 Antarctica programme can save up to 20% when paying for their cruise in full 12 months before departure.

This winter, Scenic will operate six sailings in Antarctica, starting on January 8, 2022.

Scenic Eclipse has been sailing chartered itineraries in Saudi waters since July 17, 2021.

Jason Flesher, Scenic Discovery Yachts’ expedition operations manager, said: “We’ve been planning this season for months and we can’t wait to head back to the White Continent for a season.

“Thanks to the size and capabilities of Scenic Eclipse, we’ve been able to secure exclusive landings in Margarite Bay, a southern destination that very few other ships visit.”
