New Silversea ship Silver Nova to feature revamped pool area

Silversea has confirmed its upcoming ship Silver Nova will feature an asymmetrical design which will allow for a revamped pool area and two new outdoor venues.

The 728-passenger vessel is scheduled to launch in 2023 and will be the 11th ship in the luxury line’s fleet.

Silver Nova’s asymmetrical design will be a first for the line and will offer guests “unprecedented openness” to the destination.

The ship’s pool decks on decks 10 and 11 will be the primary outdoor areas with space for 280 sunbeds.

A horseshoe-shaped pool area will occupy a large space on the starboard side of the ship, offering uninterrupted views of the destination from the swimming pool, the adjacent pool bar and the sunbathing areas.

The main pool will be larger than on the line’s previous ships and will feature wide entrance steps and shallow waters where guests can sit.

There will also be a new infinity edge whirlpool, named The Cliff Whirlpool, overlooking the ship’s port side.

The first of two new food and drink venues on deck 10 will be al fresco dining spot The Marquee, which is positioned towards the ship’s aft on the port side.

The venue has capacity for up to 220 guests and will incorporate the concepts of two existing venues, The Grill and Spaccanapoli, which offer the line’s trademark ‘hot rocks’ experience and pizza respectively.

Meanwhile, new open-air sky bar, The Dusk Bar, will offer space for up to 70 guests alongside 270-degree views from the ship’s stern.

Silver Nova will feature eight dining venues in total and several of the line’s signature restaurants will be enlarged and enhanced.

La Terrazza will seat 340 guests and will feature a new colour palette, floor-to-ceiling windows and its largest ever outdoor terrace.

Atlantide has also been redesigned and will seat 270 guests.

The line’s signature French restaurant, La Dame, will be “more spacious than ever”, with an enlarged capacity for 70 diners and higher ceilings.

The upcoming ship will also feature the line’s immersive culinary experience, SALT, and new Roman-inspired wellness programme, Otium, which it debuted on Silver Dawn.

Guests will be able to choose from 13 different suite categories – the largest variety of suites in the line’s history.

Every suite on board will feature a private veranda and a new collection of aft suites will offer 270-degree views of the destination.

Silversea said Silver Nova will also have “pioneering” sustainability credentials. The line claims the vessel is set to become the world’s first low-emissions cruise ship, with advanced hybrid technology that utilises fuel cells and emits zero harmful emissions while in port.
