The first six cruises of Carnival Jubilee have been cancelled because of delays at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
Delivery of the ship has been postponed and the first cruise will now start on December 23, 2023, from Galveston, Texas.
The cruise line’s third Excel-class ship had originally been scheduled to depart from Southampton on October 30, 2023, heading to Galveston.
Shipbuilder Mayer told Carnival that the delay was due to “supply chain logistics and related matters”.
The October 2023 delivery date has been re-set for early December 2023.

As well as the original transatlantic journey from Southampton to Galveston, five Caribbean sailings from Galveston have been cancelled.
Passengers and travel agents have been notified of the change.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said: “This is disappointing news, but with the notification from the shipyard, we are advising our guests as quickly as we can.
“We appreciate their understanding as we work to deliver another spectacular ship.”
