Swan Hellenic appoints new commercial and UK sales chiefs

Swan Hellenic has promoted Patrizia Iantorno to chief commercial officer, with Alfredo Spadon leaving the company after playing a “key role” in the brand’s relaunch and return since 2020.

The company said Spadon had passed the reins to Iantorno, who joined a year ago as vice-president of global marketing.

The line also announced that Anna Wolfsteiner, formerly of Scenic Group, will join the company on September 15 as senior vice-president of sales for Europe and the UK.

Swan Hellenic chief executive Andrea Zito praised Spadon’s “humble leadership” and said it had been a privilege to work with him.

Zito added: “Patrizia has already taken able charge of the transition, having spent the past 12 months working closely alongside [Spadon], significantly enriching our guest experience and trade support.”

Iantorno’s position, which is newly created, will see her “support the integrated development of the company’s close customer focus and distinctive service values”, according to Swan Hellenic.

Reporting to Iantorno, Wolfsteiner will focus on providing close support to European customers and trade partners.

Zito said: “Anna’s a perfect fit for our company, combining big-picture strategic acumen with detail focus and strong relational values. I am delighted that she will be bringing her insightful personal touch to this dedicated new role.”

On Spadon’s departure, Zito said: “It’s been a privilege to work with Alfredo, bringing the new Swan Hellenic vision to life.

“Everyone in the team he put together and steered with humble leadership and masterful support owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.

“He has played a key role in creating the unique spirit that distinguishes our company today.”

Spadon thanked trade partners, the media and his “fantastically talented and dedicated” colleagues.

He said: “We’ve created a distinctive premium brand that builds on an exceptional heritage to offer uniquely enriching discovery experiences of our wonderful world.”

Swan Hellenic, which has three ships, was originally formed in the 1950s by a British travel agency run by a father and son.

It is now headquartered in Cyprus, with offices around the world.
