Three Carnival Corporation brands extend cruise cancellations into summer

Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Seabourn have all extended cruise cancellations into the summer.

The extended pause in operations by the three Carnival Corporation brands includes sailings in the Mediterranean.

The HAL and Princess Cruises cancellations affect certain sailings until June 30 with Seabourn affected until July and November.

The lines are continuing to work with government and port authorities to develop plans to return to cruising following a year of shutdown due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The extended HAL pause will impact cruises departing in May and June on Nieuw Statendam, Volendam and Westerdam covering Norway and Baltic itineraries plus Adriatic and Greece departures.

Princess Cruises sailings in the Caribbean, California coast, Mexico and Mediterranean are affected.

These include:

  • Caribbean Princess: seven-night western and eastern Caribbean cruises
  • Enchanted Princess: seven-night Mediterranean & Adriatic, seven-night western Mediterranean, and 14-night western Mediterranean & Adriatic Medley
  • Ruby Princess: seven-night Classic California Coast, seven-night Mexican Riviera, and five-night Cabo San Lucas Getaway sailings

The Seabourn cancellation announcement applies differently by ship.

Cruises affected include:

  • Seabourn Sojourn, with its next scheduled departure now set for July 3
  • Seabourn Encore, with its next scheduled departure now set for July 3
  • Seabourn Ovation, with its next scheduled departure now set for July 3
  • Seabourn Quest, with its next scheduled departure now set for November 7

Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz said: “Our highest priorities are compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew and the people in destinations we visit.

“We understand guests are eager to travel and, even though we have extended our pause in operations a bit further, we continue to prepare to welcome them back once again.”
