Tui River Cruises’ has launched its second ship, whch has embarked on its maiden itinerary on the Rhine.
The top deck of Tui Skyla was turned into a winter wonderland-themed area to celebrate.
A live choir sang and festive drinks were handed out to guests – including the ship’s godmother, college exam officer Catherine Hawkins.
The 77-cabin vessel is scheduled to call into Cologne, Dusseldorf and Koblenz, all Germany, during the Mistletoe & Rhine voyage.
Passengers can visit Christmas markets during the sailing and eat regional seasonal dishes on the ship.
Chris Hackney, Tui’s managing director of cruise, UK and Ireland, said: “Since going on-sale we have seen continued growth in demand for Tui Skyla’s itineraries on the Danube with Danube Treasures being the top seller.”
Feedback from passengers who had sailed on Tui’s first river vessel to launch, Tui Maya, since August had been “incredible”, Hackney added.
“We’re delighted to offer even more to our guests and we’re looking forward to completing the fleet with Tui Isla next spring,” he said.
Prices for the Mistletoe & Rhine sailing, departing Frankfurt on December 5, 2021, leads in from £715.
Return flights, transfers, £85 excursion credit, tips and service charges are included in the price.
Tui Skyla is scheduled to operate a mix of itineraries during its maiden season – including Yuletide Wonders and New Year’s Rhine Celebrations.
