Tobago makes for a dreamy couples’ getaway or idyllic destination wedding
The world’s most romantic destinations have a number of things in common – calm, crystalline waters, secluded, picture-perfect beaches and boutique bolthole accommodation. On the unspoilt island of Tobago, this is just the start.
Tobago is brimming with unique experiences for couples who are on a romantic break or honeymoon, so they can fill their days while they relax and reconnect. Plus, with a plethora of on-island wedding services, it’s also an ideal choice for couples looking to tie the knot overseas.
Activities for all
Beneath the emerald blanket, the vast rainforest that covers much of Tobago, couples who love adventure, nature or birdwatching will find plenty to enjoy.
Take to one of the many hiking trails that wind through the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, keeping an eye out for some of the 260 species of birdlife native to the island, or venture a little further to one of the island’s cascading waterfalls. Argyle, Parlatuvier and Highland are three of the most breathtaking falls, and the surrounding rockpools are the perfect spot for a secluded dip.
Tobago’s beaches aren’t just ideal for soaking up the sun, they’re also the starting point for exploring beyond the shoreline. Couples with a thirst for adrenaline can try watersports, including kayaking, paddleboarding and scuba diving. For something slower-paced, a sunset boat tour is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day, with just each other and the gentle waves for company.
Those keen to get a true taste of island life will be in their element when they immerse themselves in the vibrant culture, try authentic dishes and meet the friendly locals who are ready to share what makes Tobago so special.
Say ‘I do’
Couples searching for the perfect location for their destination wedding need look no further than this unspoilt island, home to several idyllic spots for tying the knot, from the white sands of Pigeon Point to the vantage point of Mount Dillon, offering panoramic ocean views.
There are plenty of top-quality on-island services that ensure your clients can have their wedding, their way. They can choose a religious or non-religious ceremony, and make full use of Tobago’s expert wedding planners, who can assist with everything from flowers to hair and makeup.
