The Advantage Travel Partnership has launched a ‘Hello Suitcase’ campaign to give members confidence to sell during a “continued period of uncertainty”.
The consortium said recent booking figures suggests there is increasing demand among consumers to travel for this summer, especially for those who are fully vaccinated. However, changes to traffic light lists and government restrictions are affecting consumer confidence.
Furthermore, many agents haven’t travelled during the pandemic so the campaign aims to boost their confidence too.
Advantage has revived the @keeptheworldtravelling Instagram page which was part of a successful campaign last year and agents and clients are encouraged to share videos and images there using the hashtag #HelloSuitcase.
Tour operator and airline partners can post content to the page to highlight flexible booking options.
Polka Dot Travel has already shared content which explains the process of travelling abroad.
Advantage has created social media tiles and animated graphics for members, using the new ‘Hello Suitcase’ imagery and messages.
There will also be ‘top tips’ for shooting, editing, and using video so that members can submit content to the page and use video content in the future for their businesses.
Promotional offers will be available through Advantage’s Facebook Hot Offers page which members can use on their own social channels.
Advantage’s business development team will run webinars through late summer and autumn to help members cope with the ever-changing travel rules and restrictions.
And a new partnership with ReSolve Group UK, a leading business advisory, means members can get expert financial planning advice.
David Forder, head of marketing at Advantage, said: “The feedback we’ve had from those who have travelled overseas have said that, once the process has been undertaken, it is much more straightforward than it may initially seem and we want people to be reacquainted with their suitcase again, pack for their holiday and get back to enjoying travel once again.”
