Ambassador Cruise Line appoints deputy head of trade

Ambassador Cruise Line has promoted Karen Cameron to the newly created role of deputy head of trade as part of an ongoing recruitment drive.

Cameron has nearly 20 years’ experience in the travel industry having held roles at Thomas Cook, Stewart Travel, Barrhead Travel Group and P&O Cruises before joining Ambassador in 2023 as divisional sales manager for the north, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

From July 1, she will move into her new role where she has been tasked with “leveraging existing commercial relationships to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring trade partners have all the support and tools they need,” the line said.

She will report into head of distribution Nicola Harper.

“Since joining the Ambassador family in early 2023, Karen has done a truly amazing job as division sales manager for the north, going above and beyond the call of duty in creating and fostering partnerships with our agent partners,” Harper said.

Harper added: “She is absolutely ready to take on this key role in the business.

“As brand awareness and interest in our no-fly, affordable quality offering continues to grow, our agent relationships have never been more important to us and I look forward to working with Karen as we continue to develop a brand and a business that stands head and shoulders above our nearest competitors in the UK cruise market.”
