Blue Bay Travel personal travel advisor (PTA) Stephanie Mannock has netted the highest level of commission in one month for an agent working for the company after smashing her November sales target.
The travel agent made £50,000 in profit during the month, which included sales of inhouse tour operator Blue Bay Travel’s holidays as well as Tui, Gold Medal and Sandals.
The amount was more than £20,000 over her November sales target, which was to make a profit of £29,603.
Her commission was worth more than £2,500. One of the bookings included a sale for 30 people to Mauritius.
Mannock, 29, put the impressive sales down to sheer hard work and determination, and by taking as many incoming calls as she could to generate as many new enquiries as possible.
She said: “I went into November feeling motivated and positive and it’s really paid off. Our sales target for last month was high but I felt determined to beat it and ended up making 82 bookings!
“I’m amazed that my best month ever came during the pandemic but it goes to show that the demand is out there and, as an industry, we will survive this and come back stronger.”
The cash boost is positive news at a time when the trade faces an uncertain turn-of-year period.
“The timing couldn’t have been better, with Christmas coming up,” said Mannock. “I have a big family to buy for, including ten nieces and nephews, so the money will go towards making this Christmas the absolute best for me and my family.”
Georgina Dawson, sales manager for Blue Bay Travel’s PTAs, said: “We’re so proud of what she’s achieved! She’s an extremely tenacious and talented travel advisor and her success has given the whole team a boost. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person or at a better time.”
Alistair Rowland, Blue Bay Travel chief executive, said: “Steph is one of the best agents in the UK, no doubt at all. At our Christmas Awards in December, we celebrated her achieving £332,000 in margin this year; truly exceptional for a year so affected by Covid.”
