Blue Bay Travel appoints product manager to support growth

Blue Bay Travel has appointed former director of sales for Millennium Hotels & Resorts Darren Cummins to support growth of its product portfolio and strengthen its range of holiday deals.

Cummins, who has 25 years’ experience in the hospitality, sales, events and travel sector, has been made product manager.

He will be responsible for hotels in the Spanish Caribbean and the EU and will work closely with the senior team, especially product management director Greg Armstrong and senior product manager Nicky Streeter, to increase support for hotels in the regions he is responsible for.

Cummins, who has also held senior roles at AM Resorts, Flight Centre and China Southern Airlines, will work mostly remotely, based in the south of the UK. During the pandemic he worked outside the sector.

He said: “After a strange few years for travel professionals, I am massively excited to be back in the fold, post-Covid, and to be joining the team at Blue Bay Travel.

“I have worked closely with the Blue Bay product team as a supplier and share the same passion for delivering the highest possible service to customers and suppliers alike.

“I hope to be able to draw on my previous experience to hit the ground running for Blue Bay and look forward to learning from the talented team around me to expand my knowledge and skill base.’’

Armstrong said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Darren to the team. Blue Bay Travel has grown exponentially in the last few years, and a major driver behind that growth has been our investment in the product department and in the talented product managers we have brought on board. Darren has a wealth of experience in the travel industry and will be a core asset for us as we continue with our growth plans for 2022 and beyond.”
