A coach firm in Nantwich, Cheshire, has ceased operating its tours, with its bookings for August being taken over by another operator.
Burland Coaches said in a statement to customers on its Facebook page that it had to cease operating its fleet of coaches “due to circumstances beyond our control”.
It added: “All existing bookings made will still go ahead as planned. Thank you for your custom and support.”
Graham Meadows, managing director of Sunblaze Tours, based in Winsford, Cheshire, confirmed that his company has taken over Burland’s excursion bookings for August.
He said this would cover the trips for about 350 passengers.
Meadows added: “We are also in process of transferring the tour bookings on holidays to Newquay in October and Thursford in December, which is another 50 customers.”
Sunblaze has also taken over a stall at Nantwich market for three days per week, which was previously run by Burland, to enable customers to make bookings in person.
He added: “Sunblaze are now working on a full excursion programme from October through to March 2023, and Burland customers will now have the option to book on Sunblaze Tour programme for 2023 which consists of 18 UK tours.
“Obviously this all happened rather suddenly but the staff at Burland and ourselves are working hard to ensure all customers are as inconvenienced as little as possible.”
Sunblaze operates one coach (pictured below) but has partnered with Northwich Travel to provide an additional coach to cover the Burland work.
