Adventure operator Explore is hosting 11 UK travel agents on a six-day fam trip in Jordan.
The trip includes highlights of operator’s bestselling Discover Jordan trip, which has consistently been among the top three trips booked by travel agent partners over the last five years.
Nick Hindle, one of Explore’s business development managers, is hosting the trip, which is supported by Royal Jordanian.
The group have camped in Wadi Rum desert, visited Petra and snorkelled in the Red Sea.
Ben Ittensohn, Explore’s global sales director, said: “We’re so grateful to the agents that have taken time away from their businesses in the current environment to join the fam trip, and to find out more about small group adventures with Explore.
“Trips such as these are the ideal way to both show our gratitude, but also promote our trips confidently and to help agents see the real benefits in this growth sector.”
He said the operator is already beginning to investigate “exciting possibilities” for other fam trips for agents in 2022.
Caroline Bailey (Designer Travel) said the trip has been “outstanding”, adding: “Explore have shown us so much – exploring Aqaba by night, discovering the ruins at Jerash, snorkelling in the Red Sea, taking a mud bath at the Dead Sea with a therapeutic float and so much more but the top highlight for me just has to be exploring Petra, a place everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.”
Steve Yates (Kuoni) was impressed by the inclusion of less crowded areas on the tour.
“It was great having Nick host the trip. I’ll have so many incredible memories including the open-top 4WD ride through Wadi Rum and a really amazing long day through the sites of Petra,” he said.
Alison Bryson (Journey the World) described the experience as “brilliant”, commenting: “Nick is a great host. I loved the guides too and their amazing local knowledge.
“They took us to places most tourists don’t see and we had lots of delicious meals in family-run restaurants.”
