Explore puts Lebanon back on sale after FCDO warning lifted

Explore has put its Highlights of Lebanon tour back on sale after the UK Foreign Office lifted its advice against non-essential travel to the country.

Lebanon has been experiencing an economic crisis which prompted the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office to warn against travel.

However, the FCDO has removed that advice from its website, now encouraging people to “see our advice before travelling”.

Explore has now put its 2023 Highlights of Lebanon tour on sale, with the first trips starting in April.

Guests on the six-night tour will start and end their trip in Beirut, visiting the Chouf Mountains, Mrouj, Mtein, Byblos and Kadisha Valley.

The lead-in price for the tour is £1,399 and includes accommodation with breakfast and some additional meals, transfers, transport, excursions and a local guide.

Alison Butler, Explore’s product manager for the Middle East, said: “I’m just delighted to get our Highlights of Lebanon trip back on sale for 2023.

“This was one of our bestselling trips when we launched it in 2020 and we just know demand will be huge again this year.

“Lebanon is a really special country with incredible historic sites, beautiful scenery and incredible food, but we also know just how much the people of Lebanon will benefit from renewed income from tourism.”

She added: “I can’t wait to go back.”
