Global Travel Collection promotions as part of post-pandemic growth strategy

Two internal promotions have been made by Global Travel Collection as part of its growth strategy for post-pandemic recovery.

Francesca Mendola, who has been with the business for six years, will head the global account management team as director.

Alexandra Habuc steps up to become human resources director as the company eyes growth in the entertainment, luxury and corporate travel sectors.

Global Travel Collection in the UK confirmed in December that it had grown its pool of advisors by 28% during 2020 and hoped to continue expansion at a similar rate during 2021.

UK managing director Jason Oshiokpekhai said he was proud to champion internal development and recognise talent from within the organisation.

“In the past year, both Internova Travel Group UK and Global Travel Collection UK have undergone major transformations during the most difficult period in our industry’s history.

“We’ve nevertheless been able to grow our network of independent travel advisors, add new client support and establish GTC UK as a standalone brand.

“This success is owed in large part to the exceptional efforts of Francesca Mendola and Alexandra Habuc, who will continue to drive positive change in their new roles as directors.”

He added: “Continuing to develop talent and allowing people to flourish will be a fundamental part of the travel industry’s recovery.

“Alexandra and Francesca are absolutely testament to this – thanks to their leadership, innovation and strategic thinking over the last year in particular, Global Travel Collection has not only weathered the storm, but we are poised to take full advantage of the pent-up demand for all types of travel.”
