Independent Travel Experts (ITE) has reported that January was the most successful sales month in the homeworking agency’s 10-year history.
The boost in bookings followed an influx of new recruits and “outstanding” performances from its existing team of homeworkers.
Gary Gillespie, managing director at the agency – part of The Travel Network Group – said: “We had high hopes for January based on our sales over the previous quarter, but it really has exceeded all expectations.
“We set ourselves a stretching target but ended up smashing it with an increase of 30% over our previous best month.
“I think there was an air of slight trepidation across the industry going into peaks as we’ve become so accustomed to the rug being pulled from under us over the last few years but thankfully that’s not been the case and the bookings came flooding in.”
He added: “Over the last few months, we have spent time engaging with all our homeworkers, to ensure they had the tools necessary to capitalise on every single enquiry.
“Our homeworkers are all self-employed business owners, with individual needs and goals, so it is key for us to tailor our support accordingly.
“Cruise was the most popular area of focus for many of our members and that has been reflected in the sales, with almost 20% of bookings for that sector.
“Looking ahead, our focus is on continuing to support our homeworkers with their individual business plans of action – through our weekly webinars and training sessions, as well as through our administration support team, that allows our .embers to concentrate on providing world-class service to their customers.”
