InteleTravel to hold 2022 conference in Belfast

InteleTravel will hold its 2022 conference in Belfast, as it heads for a ‘record sales year’.

The homeworking group said sales are up 53% for the first four months of the year compared with the same period in 2021, and has themed the conference ‘Beyond the boundaries’ to encourage agents to “think creatively and boost sales further”.

The InteleTravel Quest conference (ITQ), which is hosted and sponsored by Tourism Ireland, will be held from September 29 to October 1 at the Assembly Buildings and will also include a reception at the nearby Games of Thrones studio tour and a gala dinner at Belfast City Hall.

UK director of InteleTravel Tricia Handley-Hughes said: “Strong growth and impressive high individual transactions have positioned us well for the remainder of 2022.

“Having emerged from the pandemic we have all learned so much and will use this knowledge to fine tune the education and training for agents. We now have 10 ambassador agents who help and support the agent community, themselves having climbed the learning curve and can relate to the challenges faced by agents new to the sector.”

Julie Wakley, head of Great Britain for Tourism Ireland, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted that InteleTravel has chosen Belfast as the destination for its 2022 conference and we’ll be extending a warm welcome to all delegates this September.

“We look forward to showcasing all our wonderful experiences to our travel agent guests, enthusing them about the great tourism product available in Belfast and across Northern Ireland so they can develop new and exciting programmes to share with their clients.”

Virgin Voyages will be the headline sponsor of the event.

Vice-president of international sales Shane Riley said: “Virgin Voyages is delighted to be once again attending the InteleTravel conference, this time as the headline sponsor.

“InteleTravel has continued to provide exceptional support and we’ve seen very strong booking numbers over the past 12 months. Our headline sponsorship is a small way of thanking InteleTravel for their support over the past 12 months and demonstrating a firm commitment to our partnership.”
