Intrepid Travel expands premium range with 10 new tours

Intrepid Travel has added 10 new tours to its premium range which now features 97 itineraries spanning 42 countries.

The sustainable operator has added six European trips and four in North and South America to the collection, all of which feature hand-picked accommodation, private transport, first-class train journeys and exclusive experiences.

The additional tours include the first Intrepid premium itinerary in the US with the introduction of Premium Alaska. Guests will board a rail car for a journey south to Denali, and tour the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to learn how it preserves the state’s wildlife and takes injured animals to rehabilitate them and release them into the wild.

Tours in Costa Rica and Patagonia have also been introduced.

Guests can stay for three nights in a Feature Stay hotel in Patagonia and spend a day with penguins on Martillo Island, or visit a Costa Rican family and learn to make traditional dishes and ancient pottery techniques.

The six new Europe itineraries will mark the first premium tours in the Baltics, Balkans and northern Spain, and bring the total offering to 25 in the region. Other tours added to the operator’s range include trips to Turkey, Sicily and a journey from Belgrade to Bucharest.

Africa and Asia have been the two top selling regions for the premium range since its conception in March 2021, but the operator hopes the additional trips will help bolster interest in other key destinations.

Zina Bencheikh, managing director EMEA for Intrepid, said: “The response to the launch of our premium range has been incredibly positive from the trade.

“There is a real appetite for the authentic, local experiences that Intrepid does so well, but at a higher comfort level.

“With these new additions to the range, agents will have even more choice for their clients’ next premium adventure.”
