Intrepid Travel reports spike in interest in Himalayas trips

Intrepid Travel has reported a “sharp increase” in consumer interest in Himalayas trips featured in a Netflix documentary.

14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible was released on the on-demand streaming platform in the UK on November 26.

It follows the story of mountaineer Nirmal Purja’s attempt to scale all 14 8,000 metre-plus mountains in seven months.

The adventure specialist tour operator noticed a 115% spike in visits to its Everest base camp tour page during the week of the release compared to the previous week.

There was a 59.22% increase in the number of users on the website, searching for details about the Annapurna Base Camp Tour in Nepal.

Intrepid describes the tour as “a stepping stone for mountaineers dreaming of one day conquering Mount Everest”.

Prices for the 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek start from £1,159 and the 15-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek leads in from £851.
