JG Travel Group takes record numbers on festive coach breaks

The JG Travel Group said it is having “a bumper festive period”, with more guests than ever before travelling on Christmas-themed coach breaks.

Almost 1,000 coaches will operate trips during November and December on a wide range of seasonal breaks in the UK and Europe, from the Polar Express and Turkey and Tinsel breaks to London events and Christmas markets.

The group said all three of its brands have seen festive breaks selling well in the UK.

Top sellers for Just Go! Holidays include Thursford Christmas Spectacular, plus Bournemouth and Scarborough Turkey and Tinsel breaks.

For National Holidays, top sellers include a break to Edinburgh Christmas market and a trip that visits the world’s biggest Primark and Birmingham Christmas market.

Omega Breaks’ top sellers in London include Winter Wonderland, Carols at the Royal Albert Hall and Mamma Mia! The Party.

Further afield, December has seen the largest operation of European Christmas market breaks in the JG Travel Group’s history, with visits to Germany and Belgium proving particularly popular.

Bookings have been further boosted by Andre Rieu’s festive concert in his hometown of Maastricht in the Netherlands.

More coaches than ever before are heading off to Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and Spain on December 22, in time for Christmas.

Claire Dutton, trade sales manager at the JG Travel Group, said: “Festive trips both in the UK has sold so well and it’s wonderful to see so many guests heading off to enjoy Christmas breaks both in the UK and Europe.

“It really does feel like this year, more than ever, everyone is embracing the festive period and taking time out to ensure they make the most of it with their loved ones.

“Our Christmas themed trips always book well in advance, so I’d urge agents to keep an out for our 2023 festive breaks when they start to come online in the New Year. It’s never too early to start planning.”
