EasyJet holidays has appointed John Docherty as trade distribution manager as part of its newly expanded team.
Head of distribution Kelly Walker, appointed in September last year, recently revealed the trade team would be expanded from three to seven by the end of February as the operator targets more sales via agents.
Docherty, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, joined this week.
He previously worked as a travel agent and has worked with a raft of tour operators in roles engaging with trade partners including Princess Cruises, G Touring, and USAirtours.
In his new role he will be engaging with agents to maximise sales opportunities and maintain commercial relationships.
Commenting on his appointment, Walker said: “I’m delighted that our distribution team is expanding, working with over 3,000 travel agent partners, maintaining brilliant relationships and supporting our trade partners.
“We’re committed to providing a seamless and unforgettable experience for our travel agent partners. John brings a wealth of experience to our team, so I’m really excited to have him on board to continue building our shared success with the trade.”
In a post on Facebook, Doherty said: “I can’t wait to throw myself into all things easyJet holidays before re-engaging with all our wonderful agent partners.”
