Kuoni team takes on Snowdon fundraiser for Mind

Kuoni bosses aim to raise £7,500 for Mind by climbing Mount Snowdon on October 2.

The team of 11 senior executives, led by chief executive Derek Jones, will go up the mountain by the hardest route for the charity’s first Mission for Mind senior fundraising challenge.

The money raised will be part of Kuoni’s last push to reach its overall goal of £20,000 for the mental health charity.

Throughout the pandemic, the operator’s staff have raised funds for Mind with events such as bake-offs, marathons, sponsored walks and quizzes.

Jones said: “Our partnership with Mind is twofold; we value the support, advice and expertise it gives us to share with our own team but we also set out to raise money so it can continue to do the brilliant work it does to raise awareness and remove the stigma of mental illness.

“We all know someone who has struggled, particularly over the past 18 months. It can be difficult to know where to turn and who to ask for help.

“Mind is a constant centre of support and a first point of contact for anyone who may be worried about their own health or that of a friend, family member or colleague.

“If any of our travel friends and colleagues out there would like to support us we’d love a donation, no matter how small or generous.

“And any wise or witty words of encouragement that will help to propel us to the Snowdon Summit would be very welcome!”
