Luxtripper brings in first commercial chief

Online luxury operator Luxtripper has taken on its first chief commercial officer.

Travel industry outsider Alex Marples has been recruited to lead the expansion of the tailor-made firm’s commercial teams, preparing for the next stage of growth.

He previous roles include as chief operating officer at Crowdfunder UK, director of service operations at the Department of Health and Social Care and operations director at Domestic & General.

Luxtripper was founded in 2015 and was named as one of the UK’s fastest-growing privately-owned businesses last year.

Founder and chief executive Nena Chaletzos said: “This pivotal role will focus on establishing high-performing teams focused on delivering excellence to our diverse and expanding client base, and his proven track record, accompanied by a deep understanding of the digital landscape, and passion for creating exceptional customer experiences make him the ideal candidate to lead our efforts.

“We have exciting growth plans for the next 12 months and I look forward to seeing the contribution that Alex will undoubtedly bring to the business, our clients and our future.”

Marples added: Nena and the board have taken the business to incredible heights over the last eight years, and I have been incredibly impressed by their vision, values and ambition for the future.

“The potential of Luxtripper as it continues to leverage technology to make complex luxury travel planning simple is really exciting, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in developing and transforming the commercial function as we enter this next stage of growth.”
