A mobile booking portal has been created by trade-only operator Major Travel alongside a new agent booking incentive and competition.
‘Major Go’ allows agents to access the company’s booking system via smart phones and other mobile devices.
The initiative gives them the ability to create bookings with more than 150 airlines, 500,000 hotels, transfers and car hire while away from the office.
Agents will also be able to share Major Travel’s special offers on their social media channels from their phone, as they can currently from their desktop.
The posts will only feature the agent’s call to action and branding, ensuring enquiries are directed back to them.
The company is offering a £10 Amazon or Love2Shop voucher for every booking made on the new system before the end of August.
Agents are also being encouraged to get creative in a new competition to find the ‘whackiest location’ that the new system is used.
They need to take a photo of themselves making the booking and tag @Major4agents on Facebook, using the hashtag #MajorGo to get an additional incentive on their first Major Go booking and be in with a chance of winning £500 to spend on their own holiday.
Major Travel managing director Qasim Gulamhusein said: “As a B2B operator, our goal is to make life as easy as possible for our agent partners – they can now put together a complex itinerary for their clients as easily as doing their Christmas shopping on Amazon.
“Given how much the world has changed in the last few years, our primary focus was to develop a ‘mobile first’ booking platform – agents could be at a networking event, a wedding fair or even on the beach.
“If they have a mobile signal, they don’t need to wait till they get back to their desk to be able to offer a client a quote – they can do it there and then, in real time.
“I believe we offer the most sophisticated and the only full-service tour operator platform that is mobile friendly across all devices. We undertook a trial with a small group of agents and the results were phenomenal with agents loving the ability to access Major Travel’s exceptional rates on the go.”
