The tourism organisation hailed the increase and said 2023 marked an “exciting time” for the destination due to increased airlift.

Jet2 announced it will operate a twice weekly service from Manchester to Tivat between May and October.

Wizz Air, Ryanair and easyJet will also operate flights from the UK to Montenegro in summer 2023.

Globally, Montenegro saw a total of 1.7 million tourists in the first eight months of 2022, a 25% increase from last year and an 82% increase from 2019.
