New Cyprus operator Biblio Travel to join Tipto

New Cyprus specialist Biblio is to join trade marketing body Tipto.

It follows news that Virgin Voyages has signed up to become a member from September as well as Carnival Cruise Line, which is rejoining the organisation after a two-year gap. Tipto currently has nine members but will have at least 12 by September.

Biblio Travel will charter flights for the UK market out of Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham to resorts in Cyprus.

The new company is anticipating it will get more than 90% of its sales from travel agents.

The operator is due to attend Tipto’s forthcoming roadshow events as a guest member prior to officially joining in September. It will be at the Nottingham event on July 5 and in York on July 14, where agents can win a place on Biblio’s planned mega fam trip.

Tina Hodge, sales director of Biblio Travel, said: “We see a lot of value in being a member. Tipto is well respected, with well organised and attended roadshows and as a new tour operator in the UK market it will certainly help us in training and communicating our sales messages to a wide reaching and engaged audience.”

Tipto chairman Nick Hughes said: “It’s great to see how Biblio Travel has earmarked Tipto as a part of its strategic growth and awareness plan in the UK. With a capacity of circa 100,000 passengers to Cyprus, the Tipto events will give agents the opportunity to learn all about the products and quality of offering for their customers.”
