Newmarket campaign aims to capitalise on lates demand

Escorted tour operator Newmarket Holidays is offering savings of up to 10% as part of a marketing push in April to capitalise on demand for late bookings.

It said the relaxation of Covid travel restrictions in the UK and many  overseas destinations has boosted business – but warned that prices and availability will become more “challenging” later this year.

Richard Forde, head of trade sales, said: “It’s evident that customer confidence has really increased in the last few months, and they’re now eager to make up for lost time.

“In the last two weeks, 70% of bookings are for holidays departing in 2022 and 50% of those are departing in the next 16 weeks.

“Italy remains the most searched destination on our website, with a demand for the late summer and autumn.

“Portugal, Croatia, Norway, and the Greek isles are up there among customer and travel agent favourites.”

He said festive tours are proving popular already, particularly the Lapland day trips, which are nearly sold out.

“Now really is the best time for [clients] to book their trips and take advantage of our offers and excellently valued escorted tour packages as prices and availability will become more challenging as the year progresses,” he said.

The operator’s ‘Reconnect. Reimagine. Rediscover’ marketing campaign will be supported throughout April with savings of up to 10% on 2022 departures.
