Oceania Cruises names new ship Allura

Oceania Cruises has named its second Allura-class ship ahead of its 2025 launch.

The 1,200-passenger vessel is called Allura and is the sister ship to Vista, which is scheduled to enter service in May this year.

The line said it named the eighth ship in its fleet Allura to “reflect the excitement of starting an immersive new journey”, as it represents the “eternal call of the mysterious and the unknown”.

President of Oceania Cruises Frank Del Rio Jr said he anticipates Allura will be popular with guests following the “incredible demand” it has seen for Vista bookings.

“We are always looking for ways to evolve, elevate and modernise our offerings to continuously surprise and delight our discerning guests as they enjoy immersive new experiences,” he said.

“We are thrilled with the incredible demand we have witnessed for Allura’s sister ship, Vista with her 2023 maiden season already sold out, and we know Allura will be equally popular with our guests.”

The line said it will released details of Allura’s inaugural season in spring before going on sale in the summer.
