Olympic Holidays adds ‘appealingly affordable’ Albania for 2025

Tour operator Olympic Holidays has added Albania to its range for 2025, along with an expansion of its range to Greece and Cyprus.

The specialist describes Albania – Greece’s undiscovered neighbour – as “remarkably free from mass tourism despite its stunning scenery” and “appealingly affordable for UK visitors”.

It is known for its coastline, cuisine, wine, mountains, castles and Unesco-listed ancient ruins.

A seven-night holiday at Hotel Amelia Mare, Golem, Albania costs from £581 on a B&B basis including flights departing Heathrow in May.

New additions in Greece include the islands of Lesvos, Karpathos, Evia, Hydra and Sifnos, plus Agia Galini in Crete.

Meanwhile, the village of Lefkara in the Troodos mountains has been added to the options in Cyprus.

Lesvos, Greece’s third-largest island is described as “the Aegean’s unspoiled secret” while Evia – Greece’s second-largest island after Crete – is also often overlooked by visitors “in a rush” to reach better-known destinations.

Karpathos, located midway between Crete and Rhodes, is “spectacular” but far less visited than its better-known neighbours.

Hydra has drawn A-listers, artists, musicians and actors since the 1950s, said Olympic, and, with all vehicles banned, it has a “wonderfully tranquil atmosphere”.

Sifnos is known for its culinary heritage and signposted walking trails, while Agia Galini on Crete’s southern coast appeals to nature lovers and hikers.
