Go Travelling, owner of global escorted group operator On The Go Tours, has attracted £4.25 million in refinancing.
Established in 1999, On The Go Tours specialises in English in tours to more than 60 destinations, with headquarters in London and an office in Brisbane, Australia.
Private equity firm Alcuin Capital Partners invested in the company in 2018.
The new round of funding was organised by alternative finance provider to mid-sized SMEs, ThinCats.
On The Go Tours chief executive Carl Cross said: “As with all travel businesses, this past year has been challenging.
“However, we have taken the opportunity to develop our online capability and further enhance our offering.
“We are very much looking forward to getting back to what we are best at – taking our customers on authentic and accessible cultural experiences, and this funding puts us in a great position to do that.”
Neil Wilson, partner at Alcuin Capital Partners, added: “We are delighted to have completed this refinancing with Thincats.
“On The Go Tours is a great business operating in a market which has been incredibly difficult over the last year.
“With this funding in place, the business can now focus on the future as demand for international travel rebounds.”
ThinCats London regional head of sales Dave Sherrington said: “The passion and expertise across the whole team at On The Go Tours was obvious from the start, and despite the indisputable difficulties with global travel over the past year, they have shown incredible resilience.
“We are very excited to see the company fly again once restrictions are lifted.”
