Panache Cruises’ Ukraine appeal reaches £5,000

A crowdfunding campaign launched by Panache Cruises to raise money for people affected by the Ukraine crisis has passed £5,000.

James Cole launched the appeal in early March to support a British Red Cross campaign specifically set up to support families impacted by the ongoing conflict, helping to provide them with food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes and shelter.

Cole said the Bolton-based line has allocated £2,500 to the fund including £25 for each river cruise and £50 for each ocean cruise booked. Donations have also been received from customers.

He said: “Our Ukrainian appeal has never been about some big ‘sales initiative’, but rather an effort to use what we’re already doing to help in some small way.

“We have been really bowled over by the generosity of our customers, who have been extremely supportive, especially one of our most loyal customers who pledged over £1,600.”

The appeal will continue for the foreseeable future.
