The Pacific Asia Travel Association (Pata) UK & Ireland raised a “record amount” of money for its charity partner at its annual Christmas lunch.
Through donations and a raffle, a total of £4,500 was raised for Family Holiday Charity, which helps families in need to get away together, often for the first time.
The event, held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London, was attended by 217 members and guests and included a prizegiving, carol singing and auction.

Pata UK & Ireland chairman Chris Crampton praised the generosity of the attendees, which he said was “overwhelming” given the cost-of-living crisis.
“We’re really pleased to have Family Holiday Charity as our chosen charity partner for this year’s event,” he said.
“Our charity Christmas lunch is a long tradition here at Pata and one we’re very proud of.
“Over the years we’ve raised tens of thousands of pounds for various charities and thanks to the generosity of our members and their guests, this year we raised a record amount of £4,500.
“I am overwhelmed by the generosity despite the current UK economy crisis many of us are facing.”
Jax Shaw, director of experience and impact at Family Holiday Charity said: “The donations and money raised from the event will go towards helping us to achieve our mission of ensuring that every family gets the opportunity to experience tourism and take part in what this wonderful sector is all about: travel.”
