Regent Seven Seas shares ‘trade-first’ approach as it launches new itineraries

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ vice-president of UK sales, Paul Beale, told the trade they are among the line’s top priorities as the brand launched its 2026-27 Voyage Collection.

The 173 itineraries, featuring 16 new ports of call, include the 2027 World Cruise, four Grand Voyages and eight Immersive Overnight sailings.

“We’re always trying to innovate,” said Beale, pointing to the 144 overnight stays and wide range of shore excursions.

He encouraged agents to act quickly and secure the highest-value suites to maximise commissions and margins, adding: “We’re constantly thinking trade-first. We’ll never beat a trade price, so the trade can have confidence we’re never trying to undercut them in any shape or form.”

To make sure agents are familiar with the new collection, which runs from April 2026 until June 2027, a variety of tools are being used.

A webinar was organised last week, the trade Facebook group is being updated, account managers are communicating with their clients and brochures are set to be distributed to agents and their customers.

“We’ve also got toolkits coming out of our ears,” Beale added.

Mombasa, Zanzibar, Melaka in Malaysia and Galveston are among the new ports of call, with the latter tipped to boost the popularity of western Caribbean sailings with UK passengers.

The eastern Caribbean is the most successful area among British guests, who also enjoy further afield destinations.

Beale said: “In the UK particularly, exotic seems to be very popular, so Asia and Africa are always very popular and people seem to be booking far ahead to get onto those cruises and often they sell out earlier.”

He highlighted the Immersive Overnight sailings as attractive for guests who want to spend more time in the destinations.

“We give choice – you can either have back-to-back ports or go for those eight immersive itineraries where we’re slowing things down and giving the chance to have that evening in port and get into the city to try the local delicacies,” he said.

The line’s recently expanded trade sales team has been well received by agents, he said, with the Southampton-based call centre also performing well.

“Thank you to the trade for working with us,” said Beale, adding: “It’s really nice to hear some of the stories and people thanking us.”

A fam trip departs this week, he said, with ship visits set to resume from September.

“We’re very highly trade-oriented – we very much support our trade partners,” he added.

He said he hopes the trade team will grow further when new ships are introduced in 2026 and 2029 respectively.
