Seaside Travel has opened its 10th shop and enjoyed a steady stream of bookings since the launch.
The new branch opened in Guisborough in North Yorkshire on August 30.
Mayor of Guisborough Andrew Hixon joined Seaside owner Nicola Park to officially cut the ribbon to open the store.
The opening was also attended by locals, Hays Travel Independence Group, and a host of suppliers, including Jet2holidays; Newmarket Holidays; Typically Travel; Newcastle Airport; DFDS; Do Something Different; and Great Little Breaks.
Seaside Travel brand manager Richard Lowrey-Heywood said: “The town has embraced us and locals have been popping in to welcome the staff.
“There used to be a few travel agencies in the town but we are now the only one and people there are cock-a-hoop because we are helping to keep the high street alive.”
The branch has five staff, including manager Emily Moody, who provided cakes and Prosecco to visitors on the opening day.
Lowrey-Heywood said the store had “hit the ground running”, adding: “We took bookings straightaway on the day we opened, with sales of cruises, tours, short breaks and bucket and spade holidays. It was the same all day on Saturday.
“We have a fantastic team of local staff; some are trained in travel some not, it’s a mix.”
