Silversea president and chief executive Barbara Muckermann has been announced as the first keynote speaker for the 2023 Clia conference.

Muckermann revealed she will be speaking at the event during a Travel Weekly webcast.

Muckermann said she is “very fortunate” to be speaking at the conference and emphasised the value of travel agents to the luxury cruise line.

“I’m very, very fortunate to have been invited to this incredible event,” she said.

“For us, I think the message for the travel advisors remains the same: we cannot do it without you.

“We need you as partners and I want you to all come and try our beautiful ships so that we can all grow together.

“If we’re looking at the travel advisors landscape, most of them have never sold a Silversea cruise and yet we are the market leader, so imagine the potential.”
