Registration for Clia 2023 conference to close soon due to demand

Clia has said it will likely have to close registration for next year’s conference before Christmas due to high demand, as it revealed the theme of the three-day event.

Speaking at the Clia Forum on Thursday (December 7), Clia UK and Ireland managing director Andy Harmer announced the theme of the annual conference would be ‘Cruise Heroes’, adding there were “just a handful of places” remaining.

Harmer said that due to limited space on the ships, which delegates can visit during the conference in Southampton from May 12 to 14, registration would have to close within the next three weeks.

“This 2023 conference is the fastest-selling ever Clia conference and we have just a handful of places left so we’re likely to close registration before Christmas,” he told delegates.

“This is a unique opportunity to see five ships at conference in one time – which we’ve never done before – and we’ve added a special half-day for those who are new to selling cruise as a pre-conference learning element for the first time.”

He added: “Our conference in 2022 was our highest-rated ever and we’re aiming to beat this record next year.”

Revealing the theme, Harmer said: “This will allow us to talk about the different areas of cruise that we’ve not focused on in the past such as those amazing people who drive crucial elements of a cruise holiday, such as itinerary planning, entertaining and dining.”
