The tourism board for St Helena Island has unveiled a fam trip incentive to mark the launch of its Online Travel Training (OTT) programme.
The new training showcases the South Atlantic island’s landscapes and attractions, while brochures and materials are available for download.
St Helena Tourism is offering those completing the course the chance of winning one of two fam trip packages to the island.
To be in with a chance, the OTT course must be completed by December 15.
The prize includes six nights’ B&B accommodation, as well as tours and tastings at a St Helena Coffee plantation and the St Helena Distillery.
Other highlights include a five-course country estate dinner at Farm Lodge, a sunset boat cruise, a dark history tour led by the Museum of St Helena, full island tours and a home-cooked boutique dinner. Flights are not included.
The five training sections start with an ‘Island Overview,’ focusing accessibility, climate and safety.
Others focus on the island’s environment, history and hiking; sea life and marine activities; culture and cuisine; and accommodation and transport.
Alongside the lessons there are selling tips, with facts about the species found on the island, Napoleon’s final place of exile and the world’s oldest living land animal, Jonathan the Tortoise, thought to be about 200 years old.
