Evelyn Lafone has been appointed head of trade for Switzerland Tourism as the destination looks to work more closely with agents and operators.
Lafone began her career with the Swiss tourist board, and has since worked as a marketing manager for both the Australian and Canadian and midwestern US boards, as well as a district manager for southern Germany and head of trade for Germany.
She will return to the Swiss tourist board on August 1 where she will be responsible for all travel trade activities, including educating partners on how to best sell Swiss holidays and collaborations with operators on new Swiss programmes.
She is succeeding Michelle Bisang who left Switzerland Tourism earlier this year to pursue a career outside of travel.
Alex Herrmann, director of Switzerland Tourism UK & Ireland, said: “With the appointment of Evelyn as a senior professional as head of trade, we are keeping our commitment to British and Irish travel trade partners and are planning to extend our activities for tour operators and travel agents.
“The travel trade has become even more important for us in the current recovery period.”
