A guide for travel agents to keep up to date with the latest country travel restrictions has been created by Rock Insurance.
It comes ahead of the government’s much anticipated announcement of a traffic light system for the resumption of international travel from May 17.
The guide covers restrictions and Covid-19 tests required to travel to and from all major holiday destinations and will be constantly updated as restrictions evolve.
The travel restrictions guide will provide up to date information on the traffic light system as countries are graded green, amber or red in line with government guidelines.
If testing restrictions are identified on a route, the site also uses government-approved test provider lists, linking agents to relevant sites to book the required PCR or antigen tests.
The initiative as been devised in association with market outsourcing firm The Content Gym
Steve Endacott, one of The Content Gym’s investors and chairman of Rock Insurance, said: “As an industry we suffered last summer from ever changing restrictions and poorly laid out government sites, meaning thousands of hours were wasted as travel agents scoured the internet trying to find the latest requirements.
“We’ve tested the concept of the travel restrictions guide and the response from over 800 agents has been overwhelmingly positive.”
