Viking opens 2026 Nile sailings as 2024 season ‘nearly sold out’

Viking has released its 2026 Nile sailings announcing its 2024 Nile season has “nearly sold out”.

Available to book now, the line said it has put its 2026 itineraries on sale due to “strong demand”, and its 2025 sailings are “selling well”.

Set to launch in 2025, Viking Sobek will sail the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary comprising a three-night hotel stay in Cairo and a seven-night round-trip voyage from Cairo calling at Luxor, Qena, Esna, Aswan and Edfu.

When the ship enters service, it will become the sixth ship to sail on the Nile River alongside sister ship Viking Oasis, Viking Aton, Viking Ra, MS Antares and Viking Hathor, which is scheduled to debut in 2024.

Viking chairman Torstein Hagen said: “We are very pleased with the continued interest in Egypt and are proud to be the only western company to build, own and operate ships on the Nile.

“With the addition of Viking Sobek we will offer the largest fleet and the most elegant ships on the Nile, by far.

“We look forward to introducing even more curious travellers to the rich history, culture and antiquities of Egypt in the coming years.”
