Wendy Wu Tours is offering travellers the chance to spend Christmas and New Year with the company founder and her family in Shanghai.
During a webcast with Travel Weekly, Wendy Wu revealed that a special-edition Winter Wonderland tour would take place in 2025 for those wishing to have a festive season “like no other.”
Travellers will join Wendy Wu, her mother and Wu’s two children in her hometown, with the itinerary also including a New Year trip to the Great Wall.
“The Great Wall will remain open exclusively for us in the evening,” said Wu.
Travellers will also visit the Harbin International Ice and Snow festival, the largest of its kind in the world.
It comes on the back of a range of new tours introduced by the operator in the past year.
Gary King, head of trade sales, said there had been a major expansion of the Africa programme, noting the launch of trips in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Morocco.
“Morocco is a star seller for us already,” he said, adding that there had also been a significant boost in the number of Latin America tours.
Last year was record-breaking for the operator, with revenue 25% higher than in 2023.
“It was a fabulous year,” said Wu, adding: “Our booked-for-travel revenue was 40% up on 2023.”
