Windstar Cruises will deploy new ship Star Seeker to Alaska and Japan when it enters service in 2026.
The small-ship cruise line last sailed in Alaska and Japan in 2023 before it redeployed Star Breeze to sail year-round in Tahiti.
Star Seeker, which is one of two new ships the line is adding to its fleet in the next two years, will cruise in Alaska from May to August 2026, operating seven, 10 and 11-day itineraries between Juneau or Seward and Vancouver.

Windstar said it will employ expedition leaders on board to give presentations on the country.
The 224-passenger ship will then reposition to Japan where it will remain until November, sailing the line’s 10-day Grand Japan cruise between Tokyo and Osaka.
Cruises will be available to book from August this year.

“Being on the water and seeing the topography from that viewpoint brings the grandeur of Alaska into perspective. It’s also quiet and meditative to be our in these wild places. You never know what wildlife you might see.”
