Women in Travel CIC has confirmed the first round of sponsors for its 2023 conference.

Expedia Group, Google and Intrepid Travel and WeTravel are among the companies sponsoring the social enterprise’s fourth annual conference which, for the first time, will include an awards ceremony.

Held at Expedia’s offices in Angel, the awards will take place on the evening of June 21 and include a networking reception.

Women in Travel CIC said the awards categories will reflect its mission and core pillars, including leadership, allyship, talent and recruitment, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Applications will open at the end of March.

The awards event will be followed by a business day on June 22 which will feature panel discussions, group mentoring break-outs and keynote sessions. The day will be hosted by Google at its King’s Cross office.

Alessandra Alonso, founder and managing director of Women in Travel CIC, said: “I’m so grateful to all our sponsors so far for their continuous support and commitment to IWTTF and our work.

“It is a strong indication that DEI continue to play a critical role in our sector, inextricably linked to sustainability and wellbeing.

“These companies have set us on our path to a bigger and even better event in 2023, particularly with the addition of our inaugural awards.”

Ariane Gorin, Expedia for Business president, said: “We are proud to host Women in Travel CIC’s first ever awards event. At Expedia Group we believe that having a diverse team leads to better outcomes for our travellers.”
