Avis agrees five-year Disneyland Paris deal

Avis has become official car rental company of Disneyland Paris in a five-year deal.

The agreement will see Avis make its services available to all resort guests, with a new rental location at Marne la Vallée – Chessy – Parcs Disneyland railway station.

A new concept for the renovated Avis location will be unveiled this summer.

Avis will offer a fleet of modern, hybrid and electric vehicles, with discounts for theme park visitors.

Guests with park tickets and those staying in a Disney hotel will receive reductions on their car rental. Annual passholders will also be offered an upgrade to join the Avis Preferred membership.

This partnership means that the car rental company can integrate Disney characters and franchises in communication campaigns throughout Europe – especially in France, England, Spain and Italy, which are strategic countries for the Avis brand.

The Avis brand will be associated in France with the well-known Autopia attraction in the Disneyland park (pictured).

The attraction, inaugurated by Walt Disney in 1955 at Disneyland Resort, in Anaheim, California, is now present at three Disney parks around the world.

Avis Budget Group senior director travel and partnerships, international, Jeanette Harper, said: “The appointment of Avis as the new official car rental company for Disneyland Paris will be great news for travel agents, especially those who specialise in packaging Disney holidays.

“Our location at the gates of Disneyland Paris, at the Marne la Vallee – Chessy railway station, will be very convenient for families arriving from all over Europe by train, giving them the freedom to come and go as they please and perhaps extend their holidays.

“There will be an excellent choice of cars available, including electric and hybrid, in sizes to suit the number of passengers and amount of luggage, and as always travel agents will benefit from the trade friendly Avis Budget Group initiatives.”
