AWTE confirms new board ahead of resumption of face-to-face meetings

A new board of directors has been confirmed by Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) UK chapter for 2021-22.

The board voted to extend the tenure for the chair for an additional year due to the “unique challenges” experienced in the travel industry in the past 12 months.

Claire Osborne was re-elected as chair for a third term.

The association also decided to hold the membership fee at £80 a year.

The AWTE will host its first face-to-face networking event as further details around the relaxation of social distancing measures are announced by the government. Details will be released as soon as possible.

The group’s Christmas lunch will return on a smaller scale than in previous years on December  6.

Osborne said, “It has been a really challenging year for everyone in the travel industry and I am delighted to have been re-elected as the chair for an additional year to continue to support the association and its members.

“Over the last 12 months the AWTE has continued to support members with events and sessions, including the Travel Support Bubble initiative, losing stress, and finding Mojo – how to cope with the stress of Covid-19 with Dr Ula Cartwright-Finch, recruitment success with C&M Recruitment and an insight into a start-up with SPL Villas.

“We constantly listen to our members, and we will support them in the best way possible over the coming months.

“I look forward to ensuring the success of the association with a fantastic new board of ladies, who all have a phenomenal track record in the industry.

“We have some great events planned for the next 12 months and we are really looking forward to being able to get back to meeting members face-to-face over the coming months Thanks to all our members for their continued support and of course to all of our trade partners.”
