Barrhead Travel maintains commitment to high street with £1m HQ move

Barrhead Travel is moving to new headquarters in Glasgow city centre in a £1 million relocation.

The travel agency group expects the offices to officially open in the final quarter of the year ahead of preparations for the January peak trading season.

The move will see Barrhead Travel’s sales support functions, alongside some specialist sales divisions, relocate from Glasgow’s Oswald Street to the fifth floor of the historic building on St Vincent Place, centrally located off the main shopping district of Buchanan Street.

The company said it had invested £1 million in the relocation to the Grade B listed building.

President Jacqueline Dobson said: “The new office opening and the renewed demand for the expertise of a travel agent marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Barrhead Travel as our industry moves away from the challenges of the pandemic.

“We’re a people-first business and our new HQ is designed around accommodating a modern approach to office life with hybrid working opportunities, new technology, and accessibility at the heart of it.”

She added: “Our commitment to investing in the high street and investing in our people has never wavered.

“We plan to continue aiming for sustainable growth over the next few years and are looking forward to, what will hopefully be, the first unrestricted peak trading season after Christmas.”

Barrhead Travel recently announced a modern apprenticeship drive which will see more than 50 new apprenticeship roles created across its business.
