Celestyal Cruises pilots ‘no-frills’ fares in UK

Greek line Celestyal Cruises is to trial ‘no-frills’ fares in the UK starting at £199 for three nights in the Aegean.

The cruise-only freedom fares enable passengers to add on elements such as drinks packages and excursions.

Upgrades to all-inclusive rates, which include drinks and two excursions, start at £50.

The freedom fares are valid on all 2022 sailings booked in the UK until August 31.

They include accommodation, dining, entertainment, taxes and gratuities on board, with the option to upgrade.

Three-night rates start at £199 per person and go up to £1,357 for an 18-night Christmas and new year sailing.

Chief commercial officer Leslie Peden said: “Our new freedom fare not only offers an even more affordable Greek island getaway, but it provides guests with greater freedom of choice when it comes to what they want from their holiday.

“We are piloting the freedom fare in the UK and, if it proves popular, which I’m sure it will, the aim is to roll it out across all our markets by the end of the year.”
