The first Eurostar snow train leaves London tomorrow (Saturday) for the French Alps.
More than 4,000 travellers are due to use the eight-hour service via Lille which runs until February 4.
More than half of tickets were sold within the first week of the new option being offered after the high-speed rail service confirmed that a direct link to the Alps would be dropped from London St Pancras this winter.

The new weekly Saturday departure provides a connection onto a Eurostar continental train at Lille Europe station for Bourg Saint Maurice via Chambery, Albertville, Moutiers and Aime-La Plagne.
Coaches from Bourg Saint Maurice provide connections to Val Thorens, Val d’Isère, Courchevel, La Tania, Tignes, Meribel and Les Menuires.
More than 600,000 passengers are expected to travel across Eurostar’s London routes between December 15 and January 7.
As many as 35,000 passengers are due to travel on the busiest days such as Boxing Day and December 29, just ahead of new year.

“Travellers departing from London St Pancras this winter may also be treated to a sneak-peak of Santa as his visits the station during the Christmas holidays.”
