Explore Worldwide has claimed a record week and single day of bookings amid “unprecedented demand” during January peaks.
The final day of a 20% discount on small group trips on January 18 achieved the biggest day’s revenue in the company’s 42-year history.
Overall trade sales were up 11% during the period, with bookings by Trailfinders rising 99% on the same period last year.
The best selling tour last month was to Japan followed by Madeira walking holidays.
The ‘Big Blue Sale’ in January followed a record 2022-23 financial year, ending on October 31 with its biggest annual sales on record.
Trade sales continue to be a top priority, with two newly-announced roles in the UK team as well as growth in North America and Australia/New Zealand, according to the specialist operator.
Managing director Michael Edwards said: “We knew the Big Blue Sale would be popular, with a huge number of dates discounted right up until the end of the year.
“But it’s been interesting to see a real shift towards longer haul destinations this year.
“I’m so proud of the whole Explore team for managing huge numbers of calls from customers and agents so quickly and efficiently – living up to our Platinum Feefo status.”
Agency sales manager Pip Baines added: “We’re starting 2024 in such a strong position, with two new roles in the UK team plus growth overseas, as well as lots of great plans and ambitions for the coming months – the sales results are another great boost.”
